Alisha Garrett, Director of Culture and Talent Development has been recognized by Mass Transit Magazine’s 2020 Top 40 Under 40.

Alisha Garrett has invested years of hard work and incredible amounts of effort, and it has paid off! UTA is the lucky recipient her passion and drive to make the world a better place, through her example and her leadership.

Since joining UTA in 2012, Alisha has used both her analytical skills and love of culture development to make real improvements that impact so many people within the agency. Her programs have been successful and other transit agencies have taken notice. King County Metro, New Jersey Transit, Regional Transportation District of Denver, and L.A. Metro are wanting to know more about the culture and best practices Alisha has been pivotal in implementing at UTA.

“Garrett possesses a potent combination of technical skill, understanding of complex information and the ability to translate and apply that information into data-driven results. Her work with data processes and implementing lean initiatives has delivered real and measurable results to UTA, including improving operator wage accuracy by 16 percent, using an algorithm to analyze historical and projected budgeted miles and hours that improved budget metric accuracy by 83 percent and a series of continuous improvement events that saved UTA $3 million in operating expenditures,” states Mass Transit Magazine.

UTA’s Board of Trustees also recognized Alisha this week for all her successful initiatives and leadership at UTA. In addition to all of the amazing skills Alisha possesses, she has an amazing passion for this work and is a joy to work with.
