Utah Arts Festival

The 36 annual Utah Arts Festival returns Thursday, June 21 through Sunday, June 24, from noon to 11 p.m. The event will be held at Library Square (400 South 200 East). The venue is best accessed by the Red Line TRAX Library Station.

This year, attendees will be entertained by about 150 visual artists from all over the country, including a sand artist who will transform 20 tons of sand; hundreds of live performances, including headliner James McMurtry and the premiere of a new ballet; and people watching the more than 80,000 attendees.

Tickets to the Utah Arts Festival are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 65+. Children under the age of 12 are free.

There are discounts available for adult passes. Tickets purchased noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday are $5. Adult tickets purchased in advance are $7. There is a $2 discount to individuals who bike to the event and use the bike valet service located on 400 South between State and 200 East.

Getting There

• Trains with extra cars will be running through the weekend to accommodate crowds.
• Please check the schedule and be aware of departure times. The last train to depart Library Station traveling to the end of line on Thursday and Friday night leaves at 11:15 p.m. The last train traveling to the end of line on Saturday night departs Library Station at 10:15 p.m.
• Try out the group pass—$14 for up to four riders to ride round-trip during regular service hours. The group pass is good on TRAX, bus and FrontRunner.

• Before you cross railroad tracks or enter a TRAX or FrontRunner platform:
  • always watch for trains—look both ways
  • take off your head phones
  • put  your cell phone down—no texting or phone calls
  • hop off your bike or skate board
  • hold smaller children’s hands
  • walk across the tracks or onto the platform when it is safe
  • never cross between train cars—always walk around to a designated safe crossing
