In mid-2012, West Jordan and Salt Lake County opened a new public library and event center, providing residents with a fantastic community asset and gathering place that is easily accessible via transit.

Located just west of West Jordan City Hall (8000 South Redwood Road) and across the street from the West Jordan City Center Station on UTA’s red line, the library offers patrons a greatly expanded facility from what was previously offered in the community. In addition to housing more books, music, games, movies, magazines and other materials, the library features floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireplace, conversation areas, meeting and study rooms, and a large children’s area.

The library shares its building with the new Viridian Event Center. The center hosts a variety of events from film screenings to chamber of commerce meetings and also provides space for art exhibits and live performances. The Viridian is available for public use and offers catering facilities, a large outdoor amphitheater as well as indoor and outdoor gala spaces.
