September is Suicide Prevention month, and UTA is partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to participate in the Out of the Darkness Virtual Walk. This will help bring suicide prevention awareness to our communities and bring hope to the families that have suffered.
DATE: Sept 12, any time
REGISTER: Visit UTA’s team page and “Join Our Team”
PLAN THE WALK: We suggest a 5K (3.1 mile) bike, run, roll in your neighborhood or park. Please don’t gather as an employee group and keep COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. However, you can invite close friends and family to walk with you. While you’re walking, take a selfie and tag #OutoftheDarkness and @RIDEUTA when you post to social media.
WEAR YOUR HONOR BEADS: Honor beads will be available to participants to represent the connection we have to suicide and suicide prevention. We’ll be in touch with registered participants for pick-up!
HELP US FUNDRAISE: UTA is hoping to raise $500 for suicide prevention. Any dollar amount will help, and you get an Out of the Darkness Walk T-shirt if you raise $150. For more info visit AFSP’s tips and tools.
