UTA will be doing important maintenance work on the Red Line from May 24 to Aug. 17, 2025

What You Need to Know:
- No Red Line service between Courthouse and University Medical Center Stations.
- Red Line will reroute to Salt Lake Central Station via the Blue Line.
- Buses will replace train service to the University area.
- Transfer at Gallivan Plaza Station to buses 1, 2, 4, or 4R.
- FrontRunner riders: Transfer at Salt Lake Central Station, not Murray Central Station. Use Bus 2 to continue.
- No extra fare to transfer to buses.
- July 3 - 5: TRAX Red Line service will temporarily resume.
- Normal service resumes Monday, August 18.
Alternative Routes:
UTA is still providing transit services to the University of Utah and TRAX Red Line destinations on Routes 1, 2, 4, and 4R.
Beginning Sunday, July 6, route 4R will serve University South Campus Station and University Medical Center Station. Frequency details are listed below:
- Routes 1 and 2 run every 15 minutes
- Route 4 runs every 30 minutes
- Route 4R runs every 30 minutes and serves bus stops between Gallivan and Stadium Stations

- Route 4R runs every 15 minutes during weekday and Saturday peak hours and every 30 minutes on Sundays and serves bus stops between Gallivan Plaza and University Medical Center Stations
What to Expect:
- Up to 45 minute delays
- 24/7 construction during weekdays; some weekend work
- Noise, dust, vibrations, and lights, especially at night

We’re replacing worn-out parts to improve reliability and safety, including:
- Interlocking system
- Overhead wires
- Guard rails
- Track connections
