The Airport Station is BACK, Baby!
Through a year and a half of construction and numerous bus bridges, we are excited to let you know, the Airport Station is live! Beginning today you can take the TRAX Green Line all the way to Salt Lake International Airport.
The Previous Station
The original Airport Station opened on April 14, 2013, since then it has served more than 2.7 million trips. We began to work on the new station in March of 2020 to service the new terminal.
New and Improved
The new station is 4,700 square feet and involved extending the rail line 1,500 feet. If things look a little familiar it’s because they are — the station’s awing at the new station is the one that was at the orginal station. We picked it up, set it aside, and then placed at the new spot.
Something that is entirely new at the Airport Station is that this station is the first station to have our complete new way-finding signage. We hope these signs help you to navigate with ease.
Riding
Keep in mind, starting December Change Day — Sunday, December 12th — we are extending TRAX’s evening service hours. After Change Day, on Saturday and Sunday the last train will depart from Airport Station at 11:38 p.m. and on weekdays at 11:34 p.m. These trains will connect to the entire TRAX system. In other words, the last Green Line train departing from Airport Station will get you to the end of line on Red Line and Blue Line.
If you’re an infrequent rider, as some our airport travelers are, you can grab fare at the station's Ticket Vending Machines or purchase your fare in advance via the UTA GoRide app.
You can review the Green Line schedule here or trip plan and get Service Alerts on the Transit app.
Travel Before You Travel
