UTA to host grand opening and ribbon cutting event for new Midvalley Express

WHAT: The Midvalley Express is a 7-mile bus rapid transit route that connects local destinations and planned developments to increase mobility across Murray, Taylorsville and West Valley. It also includes a stop at the transit hub on the Taylorsville campus of Salt Lake Community College. The new route opened to riders on April 12 as part of Spring Change Day.

The all-electric bus route runs between West Valley Central and Murray Central stations and will be Zero Fare through April 2029. This is the third dedicated BRT route in the UTA system, following the success of the Utah Valley Express in Orem/ Provo and the Ogden Express in Ogden.

The grand opening event program will feature remarks from UTA representatives, elected officials, and local stakeholders. The ribbon-cutting will immediately follow remarks.
