Transit-oriented communities are essential to the future of the Wasatch Front. As our region continues to rapidly grow, it’s important that new development be centered around public transportation as it supports economic growth, reduces congestion, improves air and water quality, increases housing affordability, and expands access to opportunities for people of all ages.

Planning & Development Process

UTA supports the full lifecycle of transit-oriented development—from pre-development and planning, to project development, to long-term management. For projects where UTA has a property or financial interest, each step involves transparency and collaboration so communities, regional partners, and stakeholders are actively involved, helping shape projects that align with local needs and strengthen the region as it grows.
