SALT LAKE CITY (March 12, 2026) — The Utah Transit Authority will conduct essential maintenance on various TRAX light rail and FrontRunner commuter rail lines throughout 2026. These projects support UTA’s State of Good Repair (SGR) plan and commitment to prioritizing safety, system upgrades, and overall improvement. Additionally, several planned projects by the Utah Department of Transportation will impact UTA lines and routes.
UTA’s 2026 maintenance and construction plan focuses on keeping lines in a state of good repair. These projects will update existing infrastructure, make repairs, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure that the system continues to provide safe and reliable service for all UTA customers. This work is essential to maintain systems in preparation for future expansion as part of UTA’s long-term plans, like the TRAX Forward program.
Construction projects are sequenced to minimize service disruptions. Bus bridges will be in place to transport customers between stations when TRAX or FrontRunner service is temporarily unavailable.
