Overview:
The ribbon cutting for OGX marks the end of more than 20 years of planning and two years of construction in downtown Ogden, and along 25th Street and Harrison Boulevard. UTA’s newest Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system combines the capacity and speed of light rail with the lower cost construction of a bus system. Dedicated lanes and signal priority allow riders to reach their destinations quickly. Ogden Express (formerly Route 603) offers riders free fare for three years. Its electric busses run from Ogden Central Station, through downtown, to the Junction, along dedicated bus lanes in the center of Harrison Boulevard, through the Weber State University campus, and on to McKay-Dee Hospital. Riders will be able to catch the bus every 10-15 minutes on weekdays and 15-30 minutes on weekends. The project will benefit the community by reducing vehicle trips, supporting the economy, and providing transportation choices.

Quick Facts:

  • 22 upgraded stations
  • 11 clean-air electric buses
  • Dedicated lanes
  • Signal priority at 19 lights
  • 10-15 minute weekday service
  • Project cost: $120 million
