I. Procurement of Contactless Cards
Sponsors may order contactless cards for UTA’s Electronic Fare Collection (EFC) system from UTA at a price of $1.00 / card.

If sponsor elects to purchase their own cards, the intent is that the contactless technology be integrated into their employee or student picture identification cards. Sponsors must work closely with UTA’s Electronic Fare Collection office to ensure that the cards will be compliant with UTA Card Data Format Specification.

II. Card Activation / Deactivation
Sponsor is responsible for activating all contactless cards for use in UTA’s EFC system. Cards must be activated within one business day of distribution to the sponsor’s authorized users.

Sponsor is responsible for deactivating contactless cards that are no longer being used with UTA’s EFC system. Card deactivations must take place within 3 business days of a triggering event, such as a lost or stolen card, or expiration of pass pursuant to terms of the agreement with UTA.

Bulk card activation and deactivation is accomplished by UTA’s electronic mail bulk import process. Incidental card activation or deactivation is accomplished by UTA’s electronic mail bulk import process. The sponsor is responsible for creating and submitting the bulk import file(s) necessary for activation or deactivation. Bulk import files must conform to UTA’s Bulk Import File Specification.
