UTA is evaluating how to better provide service between the University of Utah and the east bench of the Salt Lake Valley while making use of existing resources, including service on routes 223, 228, 313, and 354. Your feedback is critical. Please let us know what you think.

Background

UTA recognizes that there is significant and growing demand for travel between the east bench and the University of Utah. We are launching a public outreach effort to identify how best to serve this travel market. Along with public outreach, robust data analysis will be utilized to ensure that methodical, data-driven decisions are made.

UTA faces several difficulties in improving service in this area, including:

  • No increase in funding
  • Significant north–south congestion, especially along Foothill Drive
  • Low housing densities and poor street connectivity, making it harder to reach homes and jobs
